Zachary Casey Wins the AIA Southeast Texas Chapter Douglas E. Steinman Scholarship

Zachary Casey, is a graduate student at Texas Tech University's College of Architecture and the distinguished recipient of the AIA Southeast Texas Chapter Douglas E. Steinman Scholarship for this year.

His research explores pivotal themes in architecture, including oil heritage, water sustainability, and the evolution of port cities. He focuses on the post-oil urbanization of built and natural environments, driven by a commitment to critical architectural humanities. His work extends beyond academia, having been showcased in prestigious national and international exhibitions, peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and bulletins.

Reflecting on the significance of the scholarship, Zachary shares:
