Dr. Asma Mehan shared her work at the 2024 International Conference on Urban affairs in Newyork city. The event, organized in partnership with the #urbanaffairsassociation (UAA), the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR), and the European Urban Research Association (EURA), covered a broad spectrum of topics relevant to urban life globally. My presentation fell under the sub-theme “Democracy Under Stress: Institutions and Governance” within the category of “Urban Politics, Political Activism, Urban Social Movements.” My work highlighted how digital activism has reshaped urban policies and societal responses, demonstrating the role of online platforms in addressing critical urban issues.
