During this seminar, Dr Asma Mehan will discuss the dissemination, adoption, and adaptation of urban development and modernization paradigms in Third World countries. Using case studies from the Middle East, she will examine the transcultural architecture that emerged due to global and local influences. This comparison will help reveal how different political ideologies and economic systems influenced the built environment and shaped the architectural landscape of the Middle East during this critical period.
