New Book Publication: Educational Research and the Question(s) of Time
26 July, 2024
This edited book published with Springer Nature delves into the rarely explored concept of time in education. The editors argue for an analysis of time ‘in itself,’ capturing its many dimensions through personal reflections and educational events. Themes such as temporality, timescapes, timetables, and the finality of time are intricately threaded through this collection.
The book challenges linear and neoliberal notions of progress and efficiency. It avoids the linear, progressive “Time’s-(killing)-arrow” mode, promoting a new perspective on time. It draws on insights from philosophy (Deleuze, Bergson), physics (Barad), and literature (T.S. Eliot) to inspire new ways of thinking about time.
Featured chapter: “Decolonizing Architectural Pedagogy” by Dr. Asma Mehan. This chapter explores radical approaches to architectural education and urban development over time and through space.
